Welcome to Marion Audubon
Your nature connection
We are a group of individuals who share an interest in nature, birds and wildlife photography.
Whether you mainly watch birds at your feeder, or are an experienced lister, you will fit right in.
Come explore the scenic natural environment of central Florida while
learning how to locate and identify the many species of birds that can be found here.
Marion Audubon connects people with birds and wildlife right where we live in the scenic environment of Central Florida by offering free guided nature walks, educational programs and occasional field trips to neighboring county hotspots. We also work with local schools to provide birding experiences for students.
Everyone is welcome to join our walks, whether you are brand new to birding, have been doing it for years, or just enjoy taking photos of wildlife. We provide binoculars and enjoy sharing our knowledge about the birds and other wildlife we encounter. Marion Audubon is committed to being a diverse group and welcomes people of all ages, races, ethnicities, beliefs, orientations, genders, languages and abilities.
It takes individuals like you to be a voice for the birds. We can collectively make a difference when we create and support conservation initiatives to make Marion county a bird-friendly community.
Please read this article from National Audubon. Florida is mentioned in the list of states affected. When I hear further information from Audubon Florida I will make sure that you get it. There is cause for concern and caution.
